Dancing through the Decades with AARP

🕺💫DANCING THROUGH THE DECADES💫💃

Through the ages, dance is what makes our spirits brighter, our brains healthier, our hearts happier and our bodies feel alive. Between all cultures, all histories and all human beings, it remains the one common denominator that connects us all… 💃

So to remind us of this magic language we all share, we’re teaming up with our friends at AARP for a 2 hour livestream dance adventure through the decades on Saturday, July 18th.

In support of the new report by AARP and The Global Council on Brain Health, this FREE experience is a gift for our community. 🧠🙏 And from the Loco-Motions of the ‘60s, The Funky Chickens 🐥 of the ‘70s and The Moonwalks of the ‘80s, you’re invited to step into our virtual world and celebrate life with this special, immersive journey through time. 🎉

Together, we’ll begin at 11AM ET with an all levels, all ages dance class led by LEGENDARY choreographer and 3-time Emmy Award Winner ✨ Debbie Allen. ✨ With thousands of friends around the globe, we’ll learn dance steps from each of the decades, moving our feet to The Twist, bumpin’ our hips to the line dances of the ‘70s and raising our arms to do The Sprinkler. 💦

Then, dressed-up in the fashions of our favorite era (Go Go Boots? 👢 3 piece suits? 🕺 Parachute pants and big hair? 🤭), we’ll let our bodies move for an hour long dance party to the musical anthems of each decade. Expect celebrity guests, special surprises and tons of mischief through our dance cams (where we’ll be able to see each other). 📹🤫 And um, we are not making this up, not only are the Village People leading us through their iconic dance jam YMCA, but Queen of Disco and Grammy-winner singer of “I Will Survive” Gloria Gaynor will be singing with us. 🤯🙌

Again, this experience is totally free—but don’t forget to RSVP to receive your Zoom link on event day. Think of it as a sweet moment of respite, a way to connect to the world together at home and fill our tanks back up with joy. ☀️ Because remember—from kiddos to master citizens 50 and wiser, dance is for everybody, and every body. All we need to do is close our eyes and follow the beat. 💗

See you on the virtual dancefloor.
