Kelly’s Banana Bread Bars
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup softened butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 or 4 ripe bananas
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¾ tsp salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Heat oven to 375 and grease and flour 15×10 inch jelly roll pan. Beat together sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs until creamy, Blend in bananas and vanilla extract. Add flour, soda and salt. Mix until blended. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Brown Sugar Frosting
- ½ cup butter
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar)
- 3 tb milk
- 1 ½ ts vanilla extract
Melt butter in large sauce pan until melted and golden brown– 3 to 5 minutes. Whisk in confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla. Whisk until smooth in consistency. Spread over cooled banana bars. Enjoy!
