It was an honor for staff and volunteers from the Northland Shepherd’s Center (NSC) to be invited to join the celebration of the 100th birthday of their Meals on Wheels and Friendly Visitor Client Margie! Margie’s family hosted the celebration on Margie’s August 27 birthday at the Pizza Ranch. It was quite a celebration with the room packed with Margie’s family and friends!
Margie says that it “isn’t easy” living this long and that the secrets to living to 100 are working hard and being blessed. She feels blessed that she still lives in her own home, is mobile without using a cane or a walker, and that she has wonderful relatives, neighbors, and NSC’s Volunteer Dennis who watch out for her and help her when needed.
And, according to Margie, receiving NSC’s Meals on Wheels and having Dennis as a dedicated and beloved NSC Friendly Visitor for the last several years have been instrumental in her presently having such a good life.
